We're here to help! If you have any questions, feedback, or need assistance with Bug Identifier: Instant Scan, please don't hesitate to reach out.
Our AI-powered identification system is highly accurate but not 100% perfect. For the best results, take clear, well-lit photos with the bug clearly visible. Always use the results as a starting point and consult experts for dangerous or unknown species.
Bug Identifier can identify a wide variety of insects, spiders, and arthropods including beetles, butterflies, moths, ants, bees, wasps, flies, spiders, and many more. The app works best with common species but can also identify many rare ones.
For best results: ensure good lighting, get close to the bug, keep the camera steady, make sure the bug fills most of the frame, and try to capture clear details like wings, legs, and body segments.
Free users can identify one bug. Premium subscribers get unlimited identifications, unlimited chat messages, access to detailed information, and priority support.
Yes! Your photos and analysis results are stored locally on your device. Photos are only sent to our AI service for identification and are not stored on our servers. We collect anonymous usage analytics to improve the app.
The app requires an internet connection for bug identification as it uses cloud-based AI. However, you can view your previously saved identifications offline.
Subscriptions are managed through your device's app store (App Store for iOS, Google Play for Android). Go to your account settings in the respective store to manage or cancel your subscription.
AI identification isn't perfect. Try taking another photo from a different angle or with better lighting. You can also use the chat feature to ask follow-up questions or consult with entomology experts for definitive identification.
You can delete individual identifications from your history within the app, or clear all data by uninstalling and reinstalling the app.
Try restarting your device, ensure you have the latest app version, and check that you have sufficient storage space. If problems persist, contact support.
Make sure the app has camera permissions enabled in your device settings. Go to Settings > Privacy > Camera (iOS) or Settings > Apps > Bug Identifier > Permissions (Android).
Ensure you have a stable internet connection. Large photos may take longer to process. If the issue persists, try taking a smaller or compressed photo.
Never handle potentially dangerous insects based solely on app identification. If you encounter venomous spiders, stinging insects, or disease-carrying bugs, consult local pest control professionals or medical experts. The app is for educational purposes only.
Your feedback helps us improve Bug Identifier! If you have suggestions for new features, improvements, or if you'd like to see support for additional bug species, please let us know.
